On what turned out to be the hottest day of the year, we welcomed a total of 18 girls to Ludlow Golf Club on Wednesday 13thAugust, for the County Girls’ Championships. We were slightly lucky to have some breeze. With plenty of refreshments and the girls preparing appropriately for the weather, the day was largely a success.
Congratulations go to Aliyah Summers (Bridgnorth) taking this year’s Championship title with Isabelle Price (Hill Valley) as runner up.

Winner of the 18 hole handicap salver, was Francesca Vallonchini-Nursey from Shrewsbury in her first major County competition. Runner up was Isabella Smith (Shifnal) on count back, and Wren Humphries (Ludlow) came 3rd.
Unfortunately the putting and chipping challenge was cancelled due to the temperature and the nine hole competition was reduced to a 6 hole event. This was won by Lucy Heseltine with a nett score of 18, with Ava Hodgson as runner up with 22.
