19 juniors travelled to Branston on 15 August to take part in this year’s Festival of Golf and Finals Day.
9 new players from the County took part in chipping and putting challenges and then competed in a nine hole competition. Congratulations to Isabelle Price from Hill Valley who won in the non-handicap category challenges and also lifted the honours in the non handicap nine hole competition with a great round of 42.
Taking part for Shropshire were: Gangotri Skariah (The Shropshire); Meara Coleman, April Walsh and Paige Ramsey (Llanymynech); Jasmine Greaves and Julia Chapman (Arscott); Isabelle Price (Hill Valley); Elsa and Emelie Thomas (Lilleshall).

The handicap team of Seren Ramsey, Denni Coleman, Aliyah Summers, Charlotte Barnes and Nevaeh Kirwan played Nottingham in their final match beating them 3-2. Well done to all the girls for a great season.
Our Scratch team were lying in equal first place on the day with Nottinghamshire and were a credit to Shropshire playing a very strong Leicestershire and Rutland team gaining a 31/2 – 1/2 win. Notts took a 4 – 0 win over Staffordshire to take the tite by half a game point! Well done to all the squad for finishing runners up in the MNR scratch league – two years in a row! Next year!!!!!😜
