15 girls from Shropshire took part in the annual Rabbit jamboree at Ellesmere College on May 25th. We had a mixture of high handicappers and complete beginners for the day and all had a wonderful experience with Putting, Chipping and Driving challenges in the morning followed by a nine hole course challenge in the afternoon. The girls were even challenged to produce the best decorated golf ball competition.
The girls worked in teams of three and came up with some great team names with the winning team name being Golden Golfers who were Isabelle Price and Ava Hodgson from Hill Valley. Ava also won the prize for the best decorated golf ball!
The results of the team events were as follows:
Best nine hole team: Driver Devils – Lucy Heseltine (Bridgnorth); Isabella Smith (Shifnal); Julia Chapman (Arscott)
Best Chipping team: Carrot nibblers – Sophia Fullwood (Shifnal); Georgia Foster (Bridgnorth); Emilie Thomas (Wrekin)
Best Puting team: Bunny Hop Girls – Meara Coleman (Llanymynech); Francesca Nursey (Shrewsbury); Clara Ridell (Llanymynech)
Best Driving Team: Silly Rabbits: Wren Humphries (Ludlow); Leni Humpries (Ludlow); Paige Ramsey (Oswestry)
The winner of the best nine hole score with a fantastic score of 38 was Isabella Smith from Shifnal seen receiving her award from the Past Junior Captain, Seren.
Francesca Nursey, from Shrewsbury, won the best putter of the day
