The President’s Fundraiser took place at Wrekin Golf Club on Tuesday 27th August This was a 4 Ball Texas Scramble team event in which 33 teams, 131 players participated. The winning team, Phoebe Ruscoe, Angela Gwilt, Wendy Simpson & Catherine Wilson from Hawkstone Park scored Nett 58 narrowly beating Hill Valley team of Irene Stephens, Kathryn Jackson, Sheila Crawford & Tricia Carragher on count back. Congratulations go to Julie Wales (Hawkstone) on achieving a Hole in One on the 2nd hole.

Many thanks to all the players who supported the President’s Day at Wrekin GC on Tuesday 27th. August, raising funds to help with the expenses of running all our County Teams.
The day would not have happened without the help of past Presidents, Captains and Wrekin GC members manning the Reception Desk, selling Raffle Tickets and running the Halfway House. I am very grateful to all for giving up their time. My thanks also go to Wrekin GC for allowing us the use of my course and the staff’s help throughout the day.
With such a big field of 132 we tried out a different way of operating this event and would love to hear your views and/or further ideas:

No prize-giving (which would have taken place at 7:30pm)
As a Fundraiser it was a tremendous success, mainly due to me using up the balance of our 2023 Centenary Gifts. Any prize winner wishing to make arrangements to collect your prizes, please contact me (details on the Blue Book), otherwise they will be at the Autumn Meeting at Bridgnorth GC on 16/9/24 or given to your County Delegate at the next Meeting on the 23/9/24.
