A Senior Scratch 4BBB match against North Wales was played away at Wrexham Golf Club on Monday 20th May. There were some very close matches however unfortunately Shropshire lost 3-2. Well done to North Wales Senior Ladies on receiving the Trophy.

FULL FINAL RESULTS of both rounds
In some atrocious weather, our scratch and handicap squads battled a very experienced and older team from Lincolnshire. The scratch team narrowly missed a draw with a loss on the 18th hole. The result being 3-1 to Lincolnshire. Our Handicap squad, despite the size and age difference produced an admirable performance with 2 matches decided on the 17th hole and one going the distance on the 18th. Despite this, the Handicap squad lost 4-1. The girls produced some amazing golf and remained resilient with hail, heavy rain and strong winds present throughout most of the round.
A big thank you to Louisa Goff on behalf of SLCGA and Lincolnshire for securing this excellent venue. The hospitality we received from all areas of the Club was outstanding and it was well worth fighting the weather for.
Congratulations to Shifnal pairing Gilly Hartley and Linda Jones on winning the SLCGA Argles / Brealey Trophy with Ruth Finney (Horsehay) and Caroline Mansell (Church Stretton) as runners-up. Three teams scored 30 points but Gilly and Linda won on the Back 9. SLCGA thanks the host club, Church Stretton GC, for courtesy of the course and use of club facilities.
20 Junior Girls and 20 Ladies competed in the Greensome competition at Hill Valley on Wednesday 8th April. Congratulations to The Shropshire team of Lily Griffiths and Sheila Baxter on winning the 18 hole competition on count back from Hill Valley team of Isabella Price and Sheila Crawford. The 9 hole competition was won by Shrewsbury pairing Francesca Vallencini-Nursey & Jayne Breeze. Well done to all the players, many of whom are fairly new to golf.
