In February 2021 Shropshire became the first County Association to achieve ‘Women in Golf’ charter status and in so doing demonstrated its commitment to developing opportunities for women and girls to play and work in golf. The SLCGA website features a map of golf courses and what opportunities are available at each club to play golf and a resource hub which provides a wealth of information on how to develop golf at your club.
Now we are bringing this resource hub to you via a ‘Women in Golf’ Workshop to be held on Monday 15thNovember 2021, 10.30 – 1.00pm, at Bridgnorth GC itself a ‘Women in Golf’ charter club. The subject will be brought to life with speakers and leaders from England Golf and across the county with topics including: membership pathways, academy programmes, marketing and social media and junior programmes.
This represents an ideal opportunity for Lady Captains, Lady Vice Captains and Charter Champions to come along, share and get new ideas, find out what support is available and go away with a plan to develop golf at your club for 2022 and beyond.
The event is free of charge, refreshments are being provided by the SLCGA and a buffet lunch is being provided by the Shropshire and Herefordshire Development Group. This invite is restricted to a maximum of two representative per club on a first come first served basis.
We are asking County delegates to co-ordinate any interest and return booking forms asap to avoid disappointment and no later than Friday 5th November 2021.
