The County Seniors held their Summer Meeting & Championship at Lilleshall Hall G.C. on Wednesday, 15th July on a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Conditions were near perfect for some great golf, which was reflected in the good scores being posted. The trophy winners included Ann Ford (Lilleshall Hall) who won the Sally Shrimpton Cup with a nett 67 & Sue Pidgeon (Wrekin) who won the Jo Marvel Trophy with a gross 85. Other prizewinners included Jayne Sandford (Lilleshall Hall) who won Best Gross (81). Division 1 prizes were awarded to Sue Goldsmith (Lilleshall Hall), 1st Nett (71) & Denise Morton (Lilleshall Hall), 2nd Nett (72).
In Division 2, prizes were won by Ann Holland (Worfield), nett 70 & Joyce Barker (Market Drayton), nett 76. The prizes were presented by our County President, Janet Sadler. Lilleshall Hall G.C. proved to be an excellent venue for this event & we were all made to feel most welcome.
Jayne Sandford, Olive Brown, Denise Moreton & Bernadette Michaelwright will now go forward to the matchplay Semifinal & Final stages of the Seniors’ Championship.
