The Mixed Tri-Match between Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire was held on Thursday, 23rd July at Bridgnorth GC. The three county teams play every year for the WSH Shires Plate in a stableford competition, whereby the best 5 scores from the 6 lady & gentleman pairings in each team, count towards the overall county team score. This event is one of the most popular in the Seniors’ calendar & there is always a great, but friendly, rivalry between the teams.
The Shropshire team of Janet Sadler, Jayne Sandford, Anne Belshaw, Ros Moor, Kathy Evans & Judith Thornell, along with their gentlemen partners, won the trophy, making this the 5th year in succession that Shropshire has won. Ex-Bridgnorth members, Ros & Geoff Moor, won the best pair score with a fantastic 46 points.
The overall results were: Shropshire 202 points, Herefordshire 192 points & Worcestershire 182 points. Many Congratulations to the team for a superb result yet again! Reported by Jayne Sandford (Seniors’ Captain)
