We welcomed fifteen under 13 year old girls to Ellesmere College on Sunday 21 May for the annual rabbits competition for beginners/high handicappers to golf.
After deciding their team names, the girls spent the morning undertaking a variety of challenges in Putting, Driving and Chipping performing as a team to get the best scores. In the afternoon, they took on the nine hole course as a team to see who would be champions of the course.
RESULTS
The best chipping team was 1-FORE: Denni Coleman (Llanymmynech), Paige Ramsey (Llanymynech), Charlotte Alcock (Wreham) and Jasmine Greaves (Arscott)
The Best putters were the ‘HOLE IN ONER’S’ Isabelle Price (Hill Valley), Julia Chapman (Arscott) and April Walsh (Llanymynech)
The TERRIFYING TIGERS took the best driving prize – Meara Coleman (Llanymynech), Autumn Roberts (Shifnal), Clodagh O’Hara (Wreham) and Charlotte Barnes (Bridgnorth)
The best team name went to the JAMMIE DODGERS – isobel Hughes (Llanymynech), Isla Gibbs (Llanymynech), Noelle O’Hara (Wreham) and Alice Elwin (Wrexham).
There was also an individual competition to find the best putter and best gross nine hole score from the Shropshire beginners. Isabelle Price from Hill Valley won the 9 hole event and Julia Chapman from Arscott won the best putter title.
