Despite the BBC yellow warnings of high winds and torrential rain storms a superb field of 47 players, representing 13 clubs, turned up to play at Shifnal GC in the Autumn Meeting. Whilst the wind nor the rain were as bad as forecast, the winds proved challenging at times.
• The Marjorie Wynne Thomas Memorial Trophy was won by Ann Peters with 84 gross in the Summer Meeting and 86 gross in the Autumn Meeting making an overall gross of 170 points, just pipping Isabel Green to the post who scored 86 + 86 = 172 points.
• Marjorie Wycherley Cup was won by Kathleen Evans of Oswestry with a magnificent gross of 99 from the Summer Meeting.
• Wynne Corrie Cup was won by Caroline Sycamore of Market Drayton with a net score of 77.
• Ritchie Veterans Salver was won by Sara Bowden of The Shropshire with a net score of 79.
• Best Gross went to Isabel Green of Shrewsbury with a gross of 86.
• Division 1, First place went to Isabel Green of Shrewsbury with a net 76. Second place was taken by Olive Brown of Shifnal with a net 77 and third place was captured by Ann Peters of Shifnal with a net 78.
• Division 2, First place went to Caroline Sycamore of Market Drayton with a net 77. Second place was taken by Val Parkes of Ludlow with a net 78. Third place was secured by Louise Philips of Oswestry with a net 84.
• There were two twos; Ingrid Aitkien of Market Drayton & Lesley Smith of Shifnal.
